Got a Lot of Time For Oxford United’s New Limited Edition ‘In Bloom’ Shirt

Celebrating the popularity of football, art, and culture in their home city, Oxford United and Macron have revealed a beautiful limited edition fourth kit for the 25/26 season.

Oxford United are getting a little greedy this season. Not only do they already boast one of the best kit sets in the game in my opinion, but they now also have a special limited edition fourth kit that is a thing of beauty. Created in collaboration with the University of Oxford's Ashmolean Museum of Art & Archaeology to mark the opening of the museum’s major new exhibition, ‘In Bloom: How Plants Changed Our World’, it has story and an impactful design – what more could you want? (Well, maybe to not be in a relegation scrap, but we can’t have it all, can we).

Set to be worn later this summer, the design draws directly from Study of Wild Rose, the delicate watercolour by Victorian writer, artist and social reformer John Ruskin, whose ties to Oxford run deep. A soft pale yellow base provides the canvas, while sweeping pink and green florals bloom down the sleeves and along the side panels, creating a look that feels more gallery wall than football pitch. Navy central branding grounds the piece and offers a sharp contrast, echoing the approach seen on the club’s away shirt earlier this season. Available in both long and short sleeve, it’s a design that walks the line between statement piece and wearable kit with ease.

The collaboration perfectly captures the meeting point between football and culture that defines Oxford as a city. By linking the launch to the Ashmolean Museum’s ‘In Bloom: How Plants Changed Our World’ exhibition, the shirt transitions from being just another entry in the season’s kit cycle to a celebration of the artistic heritage that surrounds the club.
